Programme:

Despite facing a strong Wednesday side, which included the likes of Chris Waddle, Kevin Pressman and Andy Pierce and a total of seven who had had Premiership experience, United gave a good account of themselves. In fact they were unlucky not to win as Paul Wharton had a penalty saved by Kevin Pressman , who also denied Jason Blunt when he was through on goal with only Pressman to beat. United made three substitutions, one as early as the fourth minute when Alan Maybury had to replace Mark Jackson at Left Half. Paul Shepherd came on for Richard Fidler at Left Back for the start of the second half and Andy Brown replaced Nathan Lowndes at Inside left in the seventieth minute. The game was played at the Ryedale Stadium, York. In the final Nottingham Forest beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0.
